Foundation

As we reflect on this amazing year, we can proudly say that each and every one of our students has gained skills, knowledge and gown at his or her personal best. Students have developed positive foundations for their future learning. Students have developed beautiful friendships and have gained skills in problem-solving and resilience. We duly congratulate each and every one for being such motivated learners and celebrate their successes.

We had many highlights this term. As we integrated our learning on ‘Living Things’ and ‘How does it move?’ students were engaged in literacy, numeracy and science tasks. This involved students working individually, in group tasks, as well as hands-on activities, to further consolidate their understanding of concepts. Our farm excursion was very successful, as students got to see and experience farm life by planting seeds, mixing compost, feeding animals and enjoying the outdoors, especially the tractor ride. We also participated in the much-anticipated annual athletics carnival. Foundation students participated in the tabloid sports and were amazing cheer leaders for their house colours. It was a great opportunity to see so many parents getting involved in the fun. Our seven weeks swimming program has come to an end and we have witnessed great progress with students’ confidence in the water and with their self-help skills in getting dressed and organised. Well done!

On behalf of the Foundation Team, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all students, families and carers for their ongoing hard work and support this year. We would like to also thank our integration aides for their continued hard work and support throughout the year. Overall, it has been an amazing year because of everyone’s commitment and hard work.

We wish all our students and families a well-deserved HAPPY and SAFE break and look forward to another wonderful year.

Yours in Education,
Foundation Team
